The Ombudsman found that Council's consideration of a matter involving disposition of city-owned lands in a May 21, 2013 closed session was permitted under the Act, and that the city did not violate the open meeting requirements during a meeting on March 20.

The Ombudsman found that Council's consideration of a matter involving disposition of city-owned lands in a May 21, 2013 closed session was permitted under the Act and the resolution to proceed in camera identified the general nature of matters to be discussed.

The Ombudsman also found that Council for the City of Oshawa did not violate the open meeting requirements of the Municipal Act when it met behind closed doors to discuss the potential acquisition of property for a Consolidated Operations Centre. The Ombudsman commended Council for audio recording its closed meetings.
