Town of Wasaga Beach

​The Ombudsman received a complaint alleging that council for the Town of Wasaga Beach contravened the Municipal Act, 2001’s open meeting requirements on September 22, 2021. The complainant alleged that council improperly held a closed meeting during a ground-breaking ceremony that was not open to all members of the public. The Ombudsman found there was no contravention of the open meeting requirements because there was no discussion amongst council members during the ceremony and council business was not materially advanced.
